Employers' and Public Liability

The defence of employers’ liability and public liability claims for insurers and their insured is one of our core areas of work. We deal with matters both prior to and post issue of proceedings and frequently work in tandem with loss adjusters where they have been appointed to investigate accident circumstances.

Claims of this type are expensive, not only in terms of damages and legal costs but also in terms of indirect costs such as increased premiums and wasted management time. Our strategy is to identify as early as possible those claims which can be successfully defended and to settle, at a reasonable level, those which cannot. To do this we work closely with our clients, we understand the nature of their business, we identify the defences available and discuss their priorities.
